The Amarnath Yatra or Baba Barfani is dedicated to God Shiva, The Yatra attracts billions of pilgrims every year during Sawan mela from July till August for Divine Darshan of Self mad ice (Snow) Lingam of Lord Shiva called Amarnath along with mighty Amarnath cave was found by Adi Guru Shankaracharya
The cave is placed at an altitude of 3,888m, about 141 km from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and reached through Pahalgam town, Some parts of the route can be covered by Helicopter service & rest by trekking or Pony, Palki etc.
Amarnath has an important sight of the largest gathering of Shiva Pilgrims and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines. The annual ‘Amarnath Yatra’ is marked by ‘Pratham Pujan’ which is said to invoke the blessings of Baba Amarnath.
How does Shiva Lingam appear in Cave?
Since the ice is collected from the water dripping from the top of the cave due to the melting of the ice on top of it, the ‘lingam’ reaches a maximum around July-August when the ice caps around the cave are melting. Water seeps into the rocks that form the cave and progressively fades thereafter. As per religious beliefs, it has been claimed that the lingam grows and shrinks with the phases of the moon reaching its height during the summer festival.
Itinerary
Welcome to Paradise on Earth meet our representative and proceed to hotel., Check into hotel and rest of the day is free for local sightseeing.
Dinner & overnight stay in hotel.
After your early breakfast, proceed for Baltal around 3 to 4-hour drive. Upon arrival, board the pre-booked Helicopter to Panchtarni for Amaranth Ji holy cave, you can trek or you can hire a palki or pony at your own cost.
By reaching at Amarnath Ji, have Darshan& blessing of self-made ice (Snow) Lingam of Lord Shiva called Amarnath along with mighty Amarnath cave.
Return to Panchtarni for night stay.
Overnight at Camps (Own Cost- approx. INR 300-400 per person on direct cost).
Returned to Helipad and get the pre-booked helicopter for Baltal and after reaching Baltal, Drive to Srinagar. En route visit Kheer Bhawani temple.
By reaching at Srinagar visit: Dal lake, chasm-e-shahi, Pari Mahal, Mughal garden.
Dinner and Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Morning after hearty breakfast, check out from the hotel. En-route visit famous Shankaracharya Temple (as per time permit) Drop off as per schedule at airport.
